Joint Venture

Kalyani Brakes (Bosch Chassis Systems India, Ltd) has formed a joint venture with Brembo (Brembo SpA) for the application engineering, production and sale of two-wheeler brakes.

On May 29, 2009, Brembo SpA and SGL Carbon SE have finalized their joint venture contract for carbon ceramic brake discs, with each parent company owning a 50% share in the new entity. For this purpose, the subsidiaries, Brembo Carbon Ceramic Brake Systems and SGL Brakes, would combine their activities. The joint venture operates under the name Brembo SGL Carbon Ceramic Brakes with headquarters in Milan, Italy, and would become operational effective June 1, 2009.

Significant Events

On December 1, 2009, Brembo S.p.A. and Donghua Automotive Industrial Co. signed a preliminary agreement for the purchase of foundry plants and equipments to establish a new integrated Brembo manufacturing hub in Nanjing, including a foundry and a machining facility for brake callipers and discs for use in cars and commercial vehicles.
