The company provides process solutions for chemical and related industries; and equipment solutions, such as heat exchangers, quenchers, pumps, rupture disks, piping products, expansion joints/bellows, dip and intel pipes, liners and lining services, and other components, as well as columns, reactors, and vessels. The company also offers fuel cell components and ceramic composites.
The company also offers fine grain graphite products under the SIGRAFINE brand for photovoltaic, semiconductor, mechanical engineering, chemical and petrochemical, electrical discharge machining, metal, automotive, and glass and refractory industries, as well as for high temperature furnaces and wind energy generators.
In addition, the company provides expanded graphite products under the SIGRAFLEX, SIGRACELL, and SIGRATHERM brands for chemical and petrochemical, mechanical engineering, energy storage, automotive, construction and HVAC, and thermal management industries, as well as for high temperature furnaces.
Additionally, the company offers carbon fiber-reinforced carbon and felt products under the SIGRABOND, SIGRATHERM, and SIGRACELL brands for photovoltaic, semiconductor, glass and refractory, chemical and petrochemical, and energy storage industries, as well as for high temperature furnaces; carbon fibers under the PANOX, SIGRAFIL, and RECAFIL names; composite materials, including SIGRAPREG pre-impregnated, REFRASIL insulation, thermoplastic composite material, and thermal insulation products, as well as carbon, glass, and aramid fibers; and composite components, such as SIGRACOMP components and wet friction materials, brake and racing disks, and components for the automotive industry.
History
The company was founded in 1872. It was formerly known as SGL CARBON Aktiengesellschaft and changed its name to SGL Carbon SE in 2009.
